Jennifer Garner BIO
->
Jennifer Garner was born last April 17, 1972 in Houston, Texas. She’s the second child of Bill and Pat. Their family moved to Charleston, West Virginia when she was three.
Jennifer first discovered her talent for performing during her elementary days when she used to win most of the talent shows. It was not that easy for her to make it to the top most of the time because her sister Melissa was also a tough competition for her. Her sister is good looking, class valedictorian, star of all her Math classes and she’s a piano wonder. During high school, Jennifer and her two sisters were optimistic in playing piano and attending ballet lessons. On top of that, she takes saxophone lesson and she’s part of the swimming team of Charleston’s George Washington High School too. Due to her several extra-curricular activities, she sometimes eat her dinner in the car between her lessons.
However, Jennifer focused more of her attention to dancing. Her sister Melissa was not fond of dancing and the idea of being better than her sister excites her back then. She took dancing seriously that even her college professor can attest to that. She is very determined when she enrolled at Denison University as chemistry major. However, she found herself shifting from chemistry major to a drama major.
When asked about her teenage life, she mentioned that she was just a “happy nerd” who wore really thick glasses and wears a purple hooded sweatshirt all the time. Her family was known to be so conservative and she remembered herself hanging out with the same nerdy kids back then.
It was year 2005 when she paid her friend a visit that is in New York City and took her chances on joining the theatre world. Her talent was recognized easily when she won a part that was understudy in a Broadway production of A Month In The Country, starring Ron Rifkin (who’d later play her evil boss in Alias). The $150 a week is not an ideal salary for someone like her but she’s really learning a lot from it. She’s an eager learner that whenever the other understudies played poker out back, she would stay deep-seated to the stage-side, watching every performance without fail, eight shows a week. She also worked as a hostess at Isabella’s, a Mediterranean restaurant on the Upper West Side, famed for its clientele of hipsters and stars to earn extra income.
With determination like that, Jennifer did not wait that long before looking for bigger prizes. She then started aiming for televisions and films. It was not that easy for her but she was prepared to face all the challenges and lucky for her opportunity knocked to her door almost instantly. She appeared in TV shows and took her some time to appear in movies too.
When she moved to Los Angeles, she also got a role of Hannah Bibb in the TV show “Felicity” where she met her ex-husband Scott Foley but they are now divorced.
She became more known to the public when she played the role of Sydney Bristow in the TV series “Alias”. The show helped her earn her Golden Globe and SAG Award. She also got a lot of Emmy nominations because of her performance in the said series.
